Oral Health problems. Should I worry about it?

Do you think you might have oral health problems? Do you know what kinds of symptoms you should start worrying about?  There are about 3 top most common oral health problems that most of the people are facing today. The Healthy Policy institute of the American Dental Association, released the results of the survey of nearly 15,000 adults across every state of America. And here are the most common oral health problems.

Oral Health Problem #1. Dry Mouth

The most common problem that people experienced occasionally or really often by 33% of respondents-was dry mouth. Another name for that is xerostomia. The dry mouth effect happens when your saliva glands are not producing that much for your mouth to be wet. It can be mostly caused by medications like antihistamines as well as drugs used to treat depressions or high blood pressure. Also, dry mouth can be a symptom of one of the diseases like diabetes. If this becomes a constant problem, it can lead to tooth decay.

Oral Health Problem #2. Difficulty biting or chewing

Next problem that appeared to be common is difficulty biting or chewing. This issue occurs for 31% of people who responded to the survey. Younger people and lower incomes people reported it at much higher rates than a population as a whole. There are lots of things that can cause you this problem such as: cracked teeth, loose teeth or deeply decayed. If your tooth is sensitive to pressure it indicates that it may need a root canal to save your tooth from diseased or dying pulp tissue.

Oral Health Problem #3. Missing tooth

Also, a missing teeth is a common problem. Average adult between the ages of 20 and 64 has three or more decayed or missing teeth. If you are missing one or more teeth, there are plenty of reasons to correct the problem. For one thing, a large space between your teeth may affect how you speak or eat. Even if it’s not noticeable, a missing molar can affect how you chew. Remaining teeth may shift and in some cases, bone loss can occur around a missing tooth. With today’s advances, you don’t have to suffer from missing teeth. There are some options to replace a lost tooth or teeth. Talk to your dentist about which option is best for you.
