It is important to take care of your teeth or they will just go away. It is also important to know all the consequences and causes of tooth loss. It is normal to loose teeth when you are a baby as a new one will come out. But as an adult, it is important to have a good oral health because once you lose your tooth, there will be no new teeth and you will have to pay a lot of money to do an implant or a crown.

There are many things that can cause a tooth loss. It is important to understand those things and make sure you have a good oral health so you don’t lose any teeth.  So what might cause a tooth loss?

  • Poor Oral Hygiene. Never forget to floss and brush every day because it is really easy to get gum disease or cavities which will most likely to lead to tooth loss.
  • Watch what you eat. Don’t eat foods with a lot of: sugar, carbohydrates and acids. These kinds of foods will damage your teeth and gums.
  • Bad habits. If you grind your teeth, then bruxism will use up your teeth over the years and make them shorter. If you grind too hard, you might fracture your teeth. Also, smoking or chewing tobacco will have the same effect on your teeth.
  • Always be careful when you playing sports as: football, hockey, basketball and etc. Don’t forget to wear mouth guard to prevent any injuries.

When you lose your teeth, you will most likely have other problems besides health problems. You will probably develop low self-esteem as a tooth loss impacts on your smile and your face will look a lot more different. So, here are some consequences of tooth loss:

  • Problems with speech
  • Anxiety
  • Chewing problems
  • Stiff jaws
  • Problems with relaxation
  • Weakening of other teeth
  • Nutrition problems

 

In order to prevent all those problems, there are many options to replace your lost teeth and keep you healthy. But prevention remains the best resolution.
